Since Alaska Packers donated the `Plover' to the County in 1'980, the boat has been stored at Semaihmoo Park. T
Maritime Historical Society wants to repair the boat and put it into service as a tourist attraction passenger ferry.,
Drayton Harbor. The County has no use for it in the foreseeable future, and because of its state of disrepair, its val
is likely less than the cost of disposal. The Parks Department recommends that the County donate the boat to t
Maritime Historical Society.

RESOLUTION NO. 95 -059
A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE DONATION
OF WHATCOM COUNTY SURPLUS PROPERTY
PURSUANT TO WCC 1.10
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on September 19 , 1995 to discuss the donation
of the passenger launch `Plover to the Whatcom Maritime Historical Society; and
WHEREAS, it was determined to be in the best interest of Whatcom County to donate the boat to the
Historical Society;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the passenger launch
`Plover' shall be donated to the Whatcom Maritime Historical Society in accordance with procedures
specified by WCC 1.10.170 for the donation of property the value of which is less than the cost of disposal.
