1 RESOLUTION NO. 95 -053
2 AMENDING RESOLUTION 95 -052 REGARDING SOLVING ON- RESERVATION
3 ISSUES WITH A NEGOTIATION PROCESS
4 WHEREAS, Resolution 95 -052 was approved on September 5, 1995; and
5 WHEREAS, minor changes were proposed to. the resolution after its approval; and
6 WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of all citizens of Whatcom County to
7 solve all problems through negotiations; and
8 WHEREAS, certain on- reservation issues have been brought to the public's attention;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, a negotiation. process is being established with the Federal government,
11 State government, and the Lummi Indian Tribe,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the
13 Whatcom County Council supports a fair and equitable negotiation position for all affected
14 parties; and
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council favors solving ori- reservation issues
16 through a negotiation process.
