2 COMMENDING RAMONA REEVES, CLERK OF THE COUNCIL

AND BIDDING HER FAREWELL
4 WHEREAS, Clerk of the Council Ramona Reeves is leaving her position with
5 Whatcom County at the end of this month to pursue other interests, after having served
6 the Whatcom County Council for seven years as its Clerk, managing its clerical staff and
7 office operations, and bringing organization and order to the office setting; and
8 WHEREAS, the Council recognizes that Ramona strives to maintain a standard
9 of professionalism, openness, and fairness in dealing with the public and news media,
10 working with an excellent staff which operates by that same standard; and
11 WHEREAS, the Council appreciates Ramona's ability to exhibit tact, diplomacy
12 and impartiality when dealing with Council Members and others, in what often is a
13 politically- charged and intense working atmosphere; and
14 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council wishes to enter on the public record
15 its appreciation for her years of service;
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that
17 the Council hereby extends its full appreciation to Ramona Reeves for her years of
18 service and professionalism as the Clerk of the Council;

1 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council offers good wishes to

MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT For. Immediate Release
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING ON FRIDAY
The Whatcom County Council is scheduled to meet in executive session on Friday
to interview a candidate for the position of Clerk of the Council.
The meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Office conference room; a
quorum may or may not be present. Any action taken will be in the form of a
recommendation to the full Council. The full Council will take formal action resulting
from this interview in public session at its meeting on Tuesday, February 28.
Ramona Reeves, Clerk of the Council, is leaving the County's employment
effective March 24. She has been in the position for seven years. Her last scheduled
day in the office is March 1.
The position of Clerk of the Council is appointed by the Council to manage the
Council Office and clerical staff, and to maintain the Council's permanent records.

(closed to the public) pursuant to RCW 42.30. 110 (g).
