COUNCIL ACTION TAKEN: 2/28/95: Approved Related File Numbers: Ordinance or Resolution Number (this item only): Res. 95 -02 SPONSORED BY: Ceset PROPOSED BY: Treasurer INTRODUCTION DATE: 2/28/95 1 RESOLUTION NO. 95 -021 2 HEARING AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON 3 SALE OF COUNTY TAX TITLE PROPERTY 4 REQUEST NO. 95 -4 5 WHEREAS, the following described property is now, and has been the property of the 6 County of Whatcom, State of Washington since November 18, 1902; and, 7 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the County and 8 the people thereof that said property be sold; and, 9 WITEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee has recommended the 10 sale of the subject property, without bids for the negotiated price; and, 11 WHEREAS, R.C.W. 84.64.320 allows for Tax Title property to be disposed of without bids 12 when the County legislative authority determines that it is not practical to build on the property due 3 to the physical characteristics of the property or legal restrictions on construction activities on the 4 property; and, 15 WHEREAS, Resolution 95 -005 designated the Whatcom County Treasurer as negotiator in 16 such sales; arid, 17 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Treasurer has negotiated a sales price of $1.00; 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that it is not 19 practical to build on parcel 400106 - 070334 -0000, having legal description of ROSBRUGH'S FIRST 20 ADD TO BLAINE LOT 8 BLK 1 - EXC S 25 FT THEREOF, and it is in the best interest of the 21 County to sell said parcel for the negotiated price of $1.00, and further in this sale transferring all 22 mineral rights; and, 23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said price shall not be allowed under contract and shall 24 be paid in either cash, certified check, or money order to the Whatcom County Treasurer at the time 25 of sale; and, 26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council, that a public hearing on 27 the matter of the sale of said property, under said terms, be held on the 14thday of March , 28 1995, at 7 p.m.; at the County Council Chambers , Whatcom County, Washington; and, Page 1 29 30 31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council shall give Notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law under R.C.W. 36.34.030.
