2 REVISING WHATCOM COUNTY CODE 1. 10, PROCEDURES FOR MANAGEMENT AND
3 DISPOSITION OF COUNTY -OWNED PERSONAL AND REAL PROPERTY
4 WHEREAS, the county executive shall have the authority to lease county real or tax title
5 property, provided that, the property management committee shall establish written guidelines which
6 shall determine when the county executive must refer a proposed lease to the property management
7 committee for review and recommendation and to the county council for approval, as described in
8 Whatcom County Code 1.10.410; and,
9 WHEREAS, the Property Management Committee recommends establishing the written
10 guidelines described below;
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that Section
12 1.10 of the Whatcom County Code is hereby amended as follows:
13 1. 10.470 Property Management Committee review of Leases. Whatcom County may lease
4 county property when it is in the best interest of the county and its residents. The property
15 management committee, along with the appropriate departmental custodian, shall review and make
16 recommendations to the county executive when property is to be leased for over three years.
