1 ORDINANCE NO. 95 -044
2 AMENDING WHATCOM COUNTY CODE 2.21, BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
3 WHEREAS, RCW 84.48.010 authorizes the legislative authority of a county to
4 appoint members to the county's board of equalization; and
5 WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 84.48.014, the board of equalization shall consist
6 of not less than three nor more than seven members, including alternates; and
7 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Board of Equalization is. currently comprised
8 of five members and one alternate; and
9 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council wishes to establish a board consisting
10 of three members and two alternates rather than the current five member and one
11 alternate configuration.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
13 Whatcom County Code 2.21 is hereby amended as indicated in Exhibit A to this
14 ordinance.
15 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this ordinance shall take effect January 1,
16 1996.
