TMMARY: A petition was submitted requesting a speed limit reduction on the dead -end section of the Lindsay
Road for safety purposes. Engineering and the Sheriff's office have reviewed the traffic characteristics
and the speed situation and recommend the speed limit be established at 25 mph on approximately 1. 11
miles of the Lindsay Road from the Trapline Road west to its end.
ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION. Recommend approval.

1 ORDINANCE NO.9
2 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT
3 ON LINDSAY ROAD
4 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to
5 establish speed limits on County roads; and
6 WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's
7 office;
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
9 the speed limit on Lindsay Road be established as follows:
10 25 mph from Trapline Road West to its end, approximately 1.11. miles;
11 Located within Section 13, Township 40 North, Range 3 East of W.M.
12 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to
13 install the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington
14 State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
6 Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code, Section
16 10.04.030.
