2 AMENDING TITLE 16 TO CHANGE DEFINITION OF SEPA OFFICIAL
3 WHEREAS, reorganization of administrative departments of the County mandated a
4 change in the Public Works Department by transferring all duties of the Building and Codes
5 Division to the new department designated at Planning and Development Services (Ord. 93-
6 042 Exh. A; Ord. 93 -003 Attachment A part)); and
7 WHEREAS, Title 2, Section 2.32 of the Code defines the duties of the Planning and
8 Development Services Department as including implementation of laws and regulations
9 applying to land use and environmental regulations that may be enacted; and
10 WHEREAS, Section 16.08.020 of the County Code contains the basic requirements
11 that apply to the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) process; and
12 WHEREAS, Section 16.08.030'defines the "responsible official" for SEPA as the
13 Director of Public Works;
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that Section 16.08.030(E) be amended as
15 follows:
16 E. "Responsible Official" shall mean the director of puhlie wefks the
17 department which bears responsibilities for the SEPA process or his /her
18 designee.
