Whatcom County Code still reflects temporary speed of 35 miles per hour for a specified section of Hannegan Road. It needs
to be changed to reflect current conditions.

INTRODUCTION DATE:
ORDINANCE NO. 95 -005
2 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING THE REMOVAL OF THE
3 TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT ON HANNEGAN ROAD
4 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to
5 establish speed limits on certain County roads;.and
6 WHEREAS, the construction project warranting the temporary reduction in speed
7 on Hannegan Road is completed;
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County. Council that
9 Chapter 10.04.050 of the Whatcom County Code be amended as follows:
10 "10.04.050 Thirty -five miles -per- hour -- Maximum generally.
11 A. The speed limit for all county roads within the unincorporated areas of
.12 Whatcom County shall be 35 miles per hour unless otherwise posted.

16 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to
7 install the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington
18 State Patrol be notified by a copy of this ordinance.%
19 This ordinance shall hereby replace and nullify the terms of Ordinance Number 93 -078.
20 ADOPTED this 7 day of Feb. 1995.
