Supplemental Budget Ordinance No. 12 requests that the Current Expense Fund, Planning and Development
Services, appropriate $18,000 from a state grant (Department of Community Trade and Economic Development)
to assist Whatcom County in preparing comprehensive plan policies that are compliant with GMA.

Supplemental Budget Ordinance No. 12 requests the following:

(1) Current Expense Fund, Planning and Development Services Department, appropriates $18,000 from a
Washington State Department of Community Trade and Economic Development grant to assist Whatcom County
in preparing comprehensive plan policies that are compliant with GMA.
(2) Current Expense Fund, Non - Departmental (Planning /Community Development) appropriates $60,000 from a
Washington State Department of Transportation grant for payment to the Council of Governments for the Commute
Trip Reduction program. This amount is for the first half of a $120,000 grant and the second half of the grant will
occur in 1997.

ORDINANCE NO. 96 -060
AMENDMENT NO. 12 TO THE 1996 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 1996 budget was adopted November 28, 1995; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 1996 budget;
and,
WHEREAS, those modifications have been assembled here for deliberation by the Whatcom
County Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 1996
Whatcom County budget ordinance 95 -065 is hereby amended by adding the following amounts
to the budgets included therein:
Current Expense Fund Expenditures
Planning & Development Svcs 18,000
Non - Departmental 60,000
Total Sunnlemental $781000
