Emergency Supplemental Budget Ordinance No. 3A adds appropriation to the Current Expense Fund, Prosecuting
Attorney's Office and appropriates $28,596 transfered in from the Administrative Services Fund, to increase the Safety &
'wining Coordinator position to full time from a half time position. In order to implement the terms of the settlement in
<elley v. Whatcom County, this change and the associated funding for it must be authorized and provided for by May 1,
1996.
Emergency Supplemental Budget Ordinance No. 3A adds appropriation to the Administrative Services Fund's budget
and appropriates $28,596 to be transfered to Current Expense to fund the above expenditure.

ORDINANCE NO. 96 -016
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE 1996 BUDGET
FOR CURRENT EXPENSE, PROSECUTING ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
AMENDMENT NO. 3A TO THE 1996 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 1996 budget was adopted November 28, 1995; and,
WHEREAS, Whatcom County has agreed to increase the position of Safety & Training
Coordinator from half time to full time to satisfy the terms of agreed upon settlement in Kellam v.
Whatcom County, and
WHEREAS, time is of the essence for Whatcom County to implement the agreed upon
terms in Kelley v. Whatcom County settlement by authorizing this change no later than May 1,
1996, and
WHEREAS, this modifications has been assembled here for deliberation by the Whatcom
County Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the
1996 Whatcom County budget ordinance 95 -065 is hereby amended by adding the following
amounts to the fund included therein:
