SPONSORED BY: CONSENT PROPOSED BY: Planning & Development Services INTRODUCTION DATE: 3/23/99 ORDINANCE NO. 99 -019 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE BUILDING SERVICES DIVISION REVOLVLING FUND WHEREAS, on January 10, 1979, the Whatcom County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution creating a Revolving Fund in the amount of $100 for the Land Use Division of the Department of Planning and Development Services to allow for the payment of postage and refunds when necessary, and WHEREAS, it is often necessary to provide change and /or refunds to members of the public when the Department accepts payments associated with the issuance of permits and funds from the Revolving Fund are utilized for these purposes, and WHEREAS, the costs associated with the payment of such permits often involve the exchange of currency in excess of $50, and WHEREAS, the Department has sought to increase efficiency and service by utilizing two cash drawers, the Department has found that the $100 fund limit is not proving to be adequate for current permit volume; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the Whatcom County Building Services Division Revolving Fund cash drawer/till be increased to the sum of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500), being an increase of $400, for the additional purpose of providing change for permits, and the Whatcom County Treasurer is hereby directed to issue a Treasurer's check in the amount of $400 to fund said increase. ADOPTED this 6th day of April , 1999.
