YES / / NO/ / (Please explain below) Budget line item number(s): SUMMARY: RCW 86.15.025 authorizes the Division of the County -wide Flood Control Zone District into arately designated sub - zones, and authorizes the establishment of such sub -zones by Resolution-of the Council. Residents of the area have requested the creation of a Flood Control sub -zone district and the Flood Control Zone District Advisory Committee has officially endorsed formation of said sub -zone. Henken 3 INTRODUCTION DATE: 9/9/97 ORDINANCE NO. 97 -049 2 ESTABLISHING A FLOOD CONTROL ZONE DISTRICT SUB -ZONE 3 WHEREAS, RCW 86.15.025 authorizes the division of the County -wide Flood Control 4 Zone District into separately designated sub - zones; and 5 WHEREAS, RCW 86.15.025 authorizes the establishment of such sub -zones by 6 resolution of the Council and further states that RCW 86.15.020 "and 86.15.030 do not apply to 7 the establishment of such sub - zones; and 8 WHEREAS, the draft Comprehensive Flood Hazard Management Plan for the Lower 9 Nooksack River recommends the formation of sub -zones in certain reaches and flood areas, and 10 11 12 13 14 11c; 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 WHEREAS, residents of the Lynden /Everson area have requested the formation of such a sub -zone; and WHEREAS, the Flood Control Zone District Advisory Committee has officially endorsed formation of said sub -zone; and WHEREAS, a map and legal description of said Lynden /Everson sub zone is included in this Ordinance as Attached Exhibit "A ". NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the County Council that the Lynden /Everson Sub -zone of the Whatcom County Flood Control Zone District is hereby established. AND all or part of sections 2, 3 and 4 of Township 39 North, Range 3 East of W.M.
