Supplemental Budget Ordinance No. 8 requests the following:
(1) In the Current Expense Fund, Juvenile Court Administration budget, appropriate $20,029 from Washington
State Becca Bill grant for continued funding of a shared position (shared with Superior Court).
2) In the Current Expense Fund, Superior Court budget, appropriate $15,235 from Washington State Becca Bill
grant for continued funding of a shared position (shared with Juvenile Court).
(3) In the Current Expense Fund, Council budget, appropriate $55,000 from Current Expense fund balance to pay
for professional services for a consultant to work on the County's comprehensive plan.
(4) In the Election Reserve Fund, appropriate $105,000 from elections reimbursements to pay for costs of
unbudgeted elections and appropriate $18,200 from a transfer from ER &R for unused vehicle equity resulting from
fleet reduction, to pay for purchase of capital equipment.
(5) In the ER &R fund, appropriate $18,200 from the unused equity resulting from fleet reduction by the Auditor's
office, to be transferred to the Election Reserve Fund.

ORDINANCE NO. 97 -043
AMENDMENT NO. 8 TO THE 1997 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 1997 budget was adopted November 26, 1996; and,
WHEREAS, changing circumstances require modifications to the approved 1997 budget;
and,
WHEREAS, those modifications have been assembled here for deliberation by the Whatcom
County Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the 1997
Whatcom County budget ordinance 96 -054 is hereby amended by adding the following amounts
to the budgets included therein:
