SUBJECT. Ordinance regarding installing stop signs on certain County Roads in subdivisions:
In the subdivision of Lincoln Green:
• Bayshore Drive at Glendale Drive;
• Moonglow Place at Morningside Drive;
• Morningside Drive at Lincoln Road and
• Morningside Drive at Bayshore Drive
• Pence Avenue at Rural Avenue

SUMMARY: An Engineering Study was conducted by the County Engineer's office and it is found that
conditions warrant intersectional control modification.

INTRODUCTION DATE: 5/6/97
1 ORDINANCE NO. 97 -020
2 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING INSTALLING STOP SIGNS
3 ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS
4 WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.200 and 47.36.110, it is found necessary
5 and expedient to modify traffic control signs on certain County Roads; and
6 WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's office;
7 and it is found that conditions warrant intersectional control modification.
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
9 intersectional traffic control be modified at the following locations:
10 1) Install a stop sign Westbound on Bayshore Drive at Glendale Drive; within
11 Section 19, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
12 2) Install a stop sign Westbound on Moonglow Place at Morningside Drive;
13 within Section 19, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
14 3) Install a stop sign Northbound on Morningside Drive at Lincoln Road; within
.5 Section 19, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
16 4) Install a stop sign Southbound on Morningside Drive at Bayshore Drive;
17 within Section 19, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
18 5) Install a stop sign Westbound on Pence Avenue at Rural Avenue; within
19 Section 8, Township 38 North, Range 2 East, W.M.
20 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to install
21 the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol.
22 be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
23 Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code, Section
24 10.16.
25 ADOPTED this 20 day of May , 1997.
