SUBJECT. • Ordinance regarding installing traffic control signs on certain County Roads.
1) Install a stop sign westbound on Aldergrove Road. at Jackson Road, in Section 7,
Township 39 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
2) Remove a stop sign northbound on Jackson Road at Aldergrove Road, in Section 18,
Township 39 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
3) Remove a stop sign southbound on Jackson Road at Aldergrove Road, in Section 12,
Township 39 North, Range 1 West, W.M.

ORDINANCE NO. 97 -008
2 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING INSTALLING STOP SIGNS
3 ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS
4 WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.200 and 47.36.110, it is found necessary
5 and expedient to modify traffic control signs on certain County Roads; and
6 WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's office;
7 and it is found that conditions warrant intersectional control modification.
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
9 intersectional traffic control be modified at the following locations:
10 1) Install a stop sign Westbound on Aldergrove Road at Jackson Road; within
11 Section 7, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
12 2) Remove a stop sign Northbound on Jackson Road at Aldergrove Road; within
13 Section 18, Township 39 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
14 3) Remove a stop sign Southbound on Jackson Road at Aldergrove Road; within
15 Section 12, Township 39 North, Range 1 West, W.M.
16 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to install
the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol
18 be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
19 Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code, Section
20 10.16. and hereby amend Whatcom County Code Section 10. 16.890 pertaining to this
21 intersection.
