SUBJECT. Ordinance regarding installing stop signs on certain County Roads in Point Roberts as follows:
Southbound on Northwood Drive (formerly Iris Avenue) at Johnson Road
Southbound on Park Drive (formerly Iris Avenue) at Johnson Road
Northbound on James Road at Johnson Road
Northbound on Shady Glen Ave. at Johnson Road
Northbound on Windsor Drive at Johnson Road

warrant intersectional control modification.

1 ORDINANCE NO. 97 -001
2 AN ORDINANCE REGARDING INSTALLING STOP SIGNS
3 ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS
4 WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.200 and 47.36.110, it is found necessary
5 and expedient to modify traffic control signs on certain County Roads; and
6 WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's office;
7 and it is found that conditions warrant intersectional control modification.
8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
9 intersectional traffic control be modified at the following locations:
10 1) Install a stop sign Southbound on Northwood Drive at Johnson Road, formerly Iris
11 Avenue; within Section 34, Township 41 North, Range 3 West of W.M.
12 2) Install a stop sign Southbound on Park Drive at Johnson Road, formerly Iris Avenue;
13 within Section 34, Township 41 North, Range 3 West of W.M.
14 3) Install a stop sign Northbound on James Road at Johnson Road; within Section 34,
15 Township 41 North, Range 3 West of W.M.
16 4) Install a stop sign Northbound on Shady Glen Avenue at Johnson Road; within
17 Section 34, Township 41 North, Range 3 West of W.M.
18 5) Install a stop sign Northbound on Windsor Drive at Johnson Road; within Section 34,
19 Township 41 North, Range 3 West of W.M.
20 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to install
21 the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol
22 be notified by a copy of this ordinance.
23 Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code, Section
24 10.16.
