This resolution provides the Whatcom County Auditor with additional information regarding the special election to be held on

RESOLUTION NO. 99 -065
SETTING A LEVY RATE AND ELECTION DATE FOR THE
PROPOSED EVERGREEN WATER -SEWER DISTRICT
WHEREAS, on May 4, 1999, the Whatcom County Council received a petition
proposing formation of the Evergreen Water -Sewer District; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Auditor verified the petition signatures, as
required by RCW.57.04.030; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Council verified that all public hearing notice
requirements were met; and
WHEREAS, on June 29, 1999, the Whatcom County Council held a public
hearing and voted to forward the petition to the Whatcom County Auditor by
approving Resolution 99 -030; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 99 -030 did not include required information regarding
an election date or levy rate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that the
Whatcom County Auditor shall call a special election on March 14, 2000, submitting
to voters within the proposed district a proposition to form an Evergreen Water -
Sewer District as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, at the same election, a proposition shall be
submitted to the voters, for approval or rejection, authorizing the district to impose
a general tax on all property located within the district.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this tax shall be collected for one Year and
shall be used only to cover preliminary expenses of the district. . -

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that this proposition shall be expressed on the
ballot in the following terms:
One year at one dollar and twenty -five cents per
thousand dollars of assessed value
