ESTABLISHING COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NOS. 999018 & 999017
AND THE AWARD OF CONTRACT. FOR THE GRANDVIEW ROAD STRUCTURAL
OVERLAY FROM I -5 TO ENTERPRISE ROAD, AND THE MAINTENANCE
OVERLAY OF HANNEGAN ROAD, BEARD ROAD VICINITY.
WHEREAS, this project is included in the officially adopted amended Annual Road
Program as Items No. 36 and No. 37.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council:
That CRP 999018 and CRP 999017 is formally established for the Grandview Road
Structural Overlay from I -5 to Enterprise Road and Maintenance Overlay of Hannegan
Road, Beard Road Vicinity.
The Contract for this project is awarded to Whatcom Builders Construction Co. in the
amount of their bid of $ 196,150.00.
An appropriation from the officially adopted Road Fund Budget and based on the County
Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:

Right -of -Way $ 0.00

Dear Mr. Kremen:
Bid proposals for the subject project were opened at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, 1999. Based
on our review of the three bids received, we recommend that the contract for the subject project
be awarded to the low bidder, Whatcom Builders Construction Company, in the amount of
$196,150.00 including taxes.
These projects are listed under Items No. 36 and No. 37 under the 1999 amended Annual
Construction Budget. Sufficient funds exist to complete the project. Local funds are involved.
Attached for your review is a copy of the low bid proposal, tabulation of all bids, Resolution for
Contract Award, Whatcom County Contract Information Sheet and a Whatcom County Council
Agenda Bill. Please signify on the Approval For Contract Award page your approval to award
the contract to Whatcom Builders Construction Co.

Overlay of Grandview Road, Interstate 5 to Enterprise Road, CRP 999018, Maintenance Overlay of
Hannegan Road, CPP 99901T' including the `Bid Procedures and Conditions," "Specifications and
Conditions," "Contract Forms," and the "Plans" governing the work embraced-in this project and the
