8 FORWARDING A WHATCOM COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT #8
9 RESOLUTION TO THE WHATCOM COUNTY AUDITOR

11 WHEREAS, the commissioners of Whatcom County Fire Protection District #8 have
12 determined that it is in the best interest of the district to increase the number of commissioners
13 from three to five; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the commissioners have filed a signed resolution with the Whatcom County
16 Council requesting such an increase in the number of commissioners:

18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council hereby
19 forwards the Whatcom County Fire District #8 resolution to the Whatcom County Auditor.

21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Auditor shall call a special
22 election, to be held within the district, for consideration of the following proposition:

24 Shall the board of commissioners of Whatcom County Fire Protection
25 District #8 be increased from three members to five members?

Board of Fire Commissioners
To the Whatcom County Council:
The Board of Fire Commissioners of Whatcom County Fire District 8 has
determined that it is in the best interest of the Fire District to increase its
Board membership from three members to five members as provided by
RCW 52.14.015. The Board of Fire Commissioners for Whatcom County
Fire District 8 has voted unanimously at the regular Board of Commissioners
meeting held May5,1999 to submit a resolution to the Whatcom County
Council who is the legislative authority for the county, which Whatcom
County Fire District 8 is located. Upon receipt of this resolution the Board of
Commissioners requests that the Whatcom County Council direct the
Whatcom County Auditor to place on the next available election day ballot
the following proposition and be submitted to the voters of Whatcom County
Fire District substantially as follows:
