JMMARYSTATEMENT.
Resolution establishing CRP 998022, Structural Prelevel and Shoulder
Widening of Birch Bay Drive/Birch Point Road from Point Whitehorn
Road to Birch Point Loop Road, and approval of award of contract to
the lowest bidder, Colacurcio Brothers Gravel & Excavation, Inc., in
the amount of $ 506,665.00.
This project was originated by citizen petition and has a tremendous
amount of local support. This project will be paid for with local funds.

OF BIRCH BAY DRIVE/BIRCH POINT ROAD
WHEREAS, this project is included in the officially adopted Annual Road Program as Item
No. 27.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council:
That CRP 998022 is formally established for structural pre -level and shoulder widening of
Birch Bay Drive/Birch Point Road from Point Whitehorn Road to Birch Point Loop Road;
The Contract for this project is awarded to Colacurcio Brothers Gravel & Excavation, Inc.
in the amount of their bid of $506,665.00;
An appropriation from the officially adopted Road Fund Budget and based on the County
Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown:

Dear Mr. Kremen:
Bid proposals for the subject project were opened at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday March 10, 1999. Based on our
review of the five bids received, we recommend that the Contract for the subject project be awarded to the low
bidder, Colacurcio Brothers Gravel & Excavation, Inc., in the amount of $506,665.00 including taxes.
This project is listed under Item No. 27 under the 1999 annual construction budget which was approved last fall.
Sufficient funds exist to complete the project. Local funds are involved.
Attached for your review is a copy of the low bid proposal, tabulation of all bids, Resolution for Contract Award,
Whatcom County Contract Information Sheet and a Whatcom County Council Agenda Bill. Please signify on the
Approval For Contract Award page your approval to award the contract to Colacurcio Brothers Gravel &
Excavation, Inc.
