9 SUPPORTING EFFORTS TO RE -OPEN THE NEWHALEM PUBLIC LIBRARY

11 WHEREAS, it is important for all citizens to have access to a public library system; and

13 WHEREAS, the Newhalem/Diablo community has lost public library access due to the
14 recent closing of the North Cascades Branch of the Whatcom County Library System.

16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council supports all
17 efforts to re -open a public library in the Newhalem/Diablo community.
