(Y/N) N Requested Date: John Cooper, Bellingham/Whatcom Convention and Visitor's Bureau, is requesting the Council prioritize its Long Term Tourism Development Project as one of the top four prioritized projects. This project was prioritized number one by the Council in April 1996. After it received number one ranking, it was fully funded through WA -CERT and removed by the Council from the prioritized list. Res. #97 -062 Related File Numbers: Ordinance or Resolution Number (this item only): T�es.*- R7 -6(epZ wacertsep.res 9/8/97 SPONSORED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Council INTRODUCTION DATE: 9/23/97 1 RESOLUTION NO. 97 -062 2 AMENDING RESOLUTION 97 -012 AND RE- PRIORITIZING WHATCOM COUNTY 3 PROJECTS FOR THE WASHINGTON COMMUNITY ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION 4 TEAM (WA -CERT) 5 WHEREAS, the Washington Community Economic Revitalization Team (WA -CERT) has 6 established pre- application requirements for proposals under the Presidents's Economic Adjustment 7 Initiative for timber impacted communities; and 8 WHEREAS, the pre - application requirements mandate that the County pass a resolution of 9 support and establish numerical priorities for proposals submitted to WA -CERT for 1997 funding 10 consideration; and 11 WHEREAS, on March 11, 1997, the Whatcom County Council prioritized the most recent 12 set of project proposals; and 13 WHEREAS, the Bellingham/Whatcom County Convention and Visitor's Center is requesting 14 their project be ranked by the County Council; and, 15 WHEREAS, several of the current prioritized projects have either been funded by 16 WA -CERT or withdrawn from the project list and an updated priority list is needed.
