3 SETTING HEARING AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED
4 ANNEXATION OF THE "GLACIER GREEN" AREA INTO THE
5 GLACIER WATER DISTRICT
6 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has received a request for water district annexation
7 via petition containing signatures of at least ten percent of the registered voters in the Glacier Green
8 area, along with a certificate of concurrence from Glacier Water District commissioners; and

WHEREAS, receipt of this petition and certificate of concurrence begins the process for
annexation into a water district as outlined in RCW 57.24; and
WHEREAS, the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed are outlined in Exhibit A
to this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the next step in the annexation process calls for the county legislative authority to
hold a public hearing.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that a public hearing
on the matter of annexation of the Glacier Green area into the Glacier Water District will be held on the
18 day of September , 1997, at 10:00 in the Whatcom County Council Chambers, 311
Grand Avenue, Whatcom County, Washington; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council shall give notice
of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law under RCW 57.24.010.

GLACIER WATER DISTRICT BOUNDARIES
Beginning at the NW corner of Section 6, Township 39 North, Range 7 east, thence, southerly
along the west line of Section 6, to the SW corner of Section 6; then, easterly along the south line
of Section 6 to the SE corner of the SW '/4 of the SW '/4 ; thence southerly along the west line of
the NE 1/4 of the NW '/a of Section 7 to the SW corner of the NE' /4 of the NW '/a of Section 7;
thence, easterly, along the south line of the NE '/4 of the NW '/4 and NW '/4 to the SE corner of
the NW '/4 of the NE '/4 of Section 7; thence, southerly along the west line of the SE '/4 of the NE
'/4 to the east -west center line of Section 7; thence, easterly along the east -west center line of
Section 7 and 8 to the center of Section 8; thence, southerly along the north -south center line of
Section 8 to the S '/4 corner of Section 8; thence easterly along the south line of Section 8 to the
SE corner of Section 8; thence, north along the east line of Sections 8 and 5 to the NE corner of
Section 5; thence, westerly along the north line of Section 5 and 6 to the NW corner of Section 6,
Township 39 North, Range 7 East, W.M., which is the point of beginning.
That portion of the Northeast quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section 8, Township 39 North,
Range 7 East of W.M., lying Northeasterly of the Thread of Glacier Creek.
GLACIER GREEN BOUNDARIES
That portion of Government Lots 8, 9, and 10 of Section 34, Township 40 North, Range 6 East,
W.M., whose boundaries are:
Beginning at the most southerly point of Lot 16 of Glacier Greene Subdivision, thence north 02
degrees 02'30" west a distance of 2208.10 feet to the northerly line of Government Lot 9, thence
south 88 degrees 38'18" west a distance of 1443.02 feet to the most westerly corner of Lot 1,
Glacier Greene Subdivision, thence in a southeasterly direction along the southwesterly right -of-
way line of the Glacier Greene Subdivision, along the northeasterly right -of -way property line of
Mt. Baker Highway (State Highway #542) a distance of 2652.55 feet more or less to the point of
beginning.
