Res. #97 -046 rance or Resolution Number (this item only): SPONSORED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Treasurer INTRODUCTION DATE: 8/12/97 1 RESOLUTION NO. 97 -046 2 HEARING AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON 3 SALE OF TAX TITLE PROPERTY 4 REQUEST NO. 97 -3 5 WHEREAS, the following described property is now, and has been the property of the County 6 of Whatcom, State of Washington since December 14, 1995 respectively; and 7 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the County and 8 the people thereof that said property be sold; and, 9 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Assessor, Engineering, Parks, Planning, and Public Works 10 Departments were contacted and expressed no interest in retaining this property for County use; and, 11 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends the sale of 2 the subject property and accepts the assessed values as fair, and; 13 WHEREAS, the assessed value is less than five years old and below $15,000 so dismissing 14 further market evaluation as defined in Whatcom County Ordinance 96 -036; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County to sell 16 parcel #390535- 035297 -0000 with legal description of: 17 THAT PTN OF LD CONV TO MCCOY - LOGGIE 18 TIMBER CO AS A 50 FT R/W IN AF 191310 19 EXACT LOCATION BEING UNDETERMINED 20 IN THAT PTN OF LD IN S 1/2 OF GOVT LOT 1 21 LY W OF W LI OF CO RD 314 (MOSQUITO 22 LAKE RD) -EXC THEREFROM E 210 FT OF S 194.95 FT 23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said price shall not be allowed under contract and shall be 24 paid in either cash, cashier's check, or money order to the Whatcom County Treasurer at the time 5 of sale; and, 26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council, that public hearing on the 27 matter of the sale of said property, under said terms, be held on the 9 day of September ..8 1997, at 7'0� p.m., at the County Courthouse , Whatcom County, Washington; 29 and, 30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council shall give 31 notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law under RCW 36.34.030. 32 APPROVED this 12 day of August , 1997. 33 WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL 34 �'ES � WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON 36 'Dana- Brnwn -Da iv s-,-�Council Clerk.
