9 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING
10 ASSISTANCE FOR INDOOR RANGE BACKSTOP REPLACEMENT TO
11 THE WASHINGTON STATE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR
12 OUTDOOR RECREATION (I.A.C.) AS PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 77.12
13 RCW.

15 WHEREAS, under the provisions of Firearm/Archery Range Recreation, state and federal
16 funding assistance has been requested to aid in financing the cost of replacement of the Indoor
17 Range Backstop; and

19 WHEREAS, the County Council of Whatcom County considers it in the best public interest to
20 replace the indoor range backstop;

22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Council of Whatcom County,
23 Washington,

25 1. That the County Executive be authorized to make formal application to the
26 Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation for funding assistance;
27
28 2. That any fund assistance so received be used for the replacement of the indoor range
29 backstop at Plantation Range located in Whatcom County, Washington;
30
31 3. That Whatcom County anticipates its share of project funding will be derived from
32 the General Funds;

34 4. Whatcom County acknowledges that the County must support all non -cash
35 commitments to the local share should they not materialize;
36
37 5. That this. resolution become part of a formal application to the Interagency
38 Committee for Outdoor Recreation.

40 6. That Whatcom County provided appropriate opportunity for public comment on this
41 application.
