is resolution authorizes the proposed donation of county owned property by Quit Claim to the Washington State
L - partment of Transportation, request #-!17-2 .
The parcel in question is Parcel # 380506 - 507452 -0000, all interest held by Whatcom County in two 150 foot wide
strips abutting both sides of Mount Baker Highway, AKA SR 542, contained in Goverment Lot 1, Section 6, Township
38 North, Range 5 East of W.M., Whatcom County, Washington.
Except any portion of SR 542 or SR 9 or County Road #216.
ORIGINATOR'S RECOMMENDED ACTION.
Following the hearing, the Treasurer recommends that the resolution be passed.

RESOLUTION NO. 97 -013
1 TO DONATE COUNTY OWNED PROPERTY
2 REQUEST NO. 97 -2
3 WHEREAS, the following described property is now, and has been the property of the
4 County of Whatcom, State of Washington since January 5, 1944; and,
5 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends the
6 donation of the subject property; and,
7 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the County
8 and the people thereof that said property be donated to Washington State Department of
9 Transportation; and,
10 WHEREAS, Whatcom County will provide a Quit Claim Deed for transferring ownership
11 and also will pay for all costs necessary for the transfer of ownership;
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County
13 to donate parcel #380506 - 507452 -0000 with a legal description of:
14 100 FT ABANDONED BY R/W ACROSS GOVT LOT 1 -LESS CO RD -ALSO 4
15 ADDITIONAL STRIPS BEING 1 STRIP 25 FT WIDE -1 STRIP 125 FT WIDE ADJ TO-
16 ON EACH SIDE OF ABOVE, EXCEPT ANY PORTION OF SR 542 OR SR 9 OR
17 COUNTY ROAD #216.
g to Washington State Department of Transportation; and,
.� BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Whatcom County donates all interest held by the
20 County in the two 150 foot wide strips abutting both sides of Mount Baker Highway, AKA SR
21 542, contained in Government Lot 1, Section 6, Township 38 North, Range 5 East of W.M.,
22 Whatcom County Washington, as described above. Except any portion of SR 542 or SR 9 or
23 County Road #216.
24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Treasurer is hereby directed
25 to donate said parcel with all interests held by the County to the Washington State Department of
26 Transportation, said donation shall take place in accordance with the duties as established in RCW
27 36.34.030.
