ADS Facilities Management ADS Finance ADS Human Resources ADS Info Services Assessor Auditor Cooperative Extension District Court Executive Health RECOMMENDED ACTION.• Hearing Examiner Jail Juvenile Parks Planning COUNCIL ACTION TAKEN. 1998 - 264 A 7/14/98: Introduced. 7/28/98: Approved 6 -0, Nelson absent, Resolution #98 -050 Prosecutor Public Works Sheriff Superior Court Treasurer Other Ordinance or Resolution Number (this item): J.'L4GLNDA aD.Ldac It&* 1140050 SPONSORED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Treasurer INTRODUCTION DATE: 7/14/98 RESOLUTION NO. 98 -050 TO SELL PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY COUNTY ON TAX FORECLOSURE REQUEST NO. 98 -6 1 WHEREAS, RCW 84.64.270 allows the County to sell real estate acquired by tax 2 foreclosure where it is found to be in the best interest of Whatcom County to sell the same; and, 3 WHEREAS, the following described property was acquired by the County on December 4 5, 1996 at which time a public auction was held and no acceptable bids were received; and, 5 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee has determined that 6 the subject property is unbuildable and therefore recommends its sale by negotiation; and, 7 WHEREAS, RCW 84.64.320 allows_ the County to dispose of tax foreclosed property by 8 negotiation when the County determines that it is not practical to build on the property due to its 9 physical characteristics. 10 WHEREAS, Resolution 95 -005 designated the Whatcom County Treasurer as negotiator 11 in such sales; and, 12 WHEREAS, RCW 84.64 requires the Council to establish the minimum price for said 13 units.of property and to determine whether or not a contract will be allowed, or if it will be a cash 14 price; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County to 16 sell the following parcel for a price to be negotiated by the Whatcom County Treasurer of no less 17 than the minimum price shown below: 18 Parcel #380333 - 135055 -0000 having legal description of: 19 SMITH -BEAN ADD TO SEHOME LOT 4 BLK 14, 20 to the highest and best bidder, for no less than $ 1 , o4F - 71 ; and, 21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said price shall not be allowed under contract and 22 shall be paid in either cash, certified check, or money order to the Whatcom County Treasurer at 23 the time of sale; and, 24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Treasurer is hereby directed to 25 sell such property at not.less than a certified price and said sale shall take place in accordance 26 with the duties as established in RCW 84.64.270.
