COMMITTEE ACTION TAKEN: COUNCIL ACTION TAKEN. 1998 - 262 7/14/98: Approved Consent 7 -0, Res. #98 -040 finance or Resolution Number (this item only): ke&* SPONSORED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Treasurer INTRODUCTION DATE: 7/14/98 1 RESOLUTION NO. 98-040 2 HEARING AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON 3 SALE OF TAX TITLE PROPERTY 4 REQUEST NO. 98 -2 5 WHEREAS, the following .described property is now, and has been the property of the County 6 of Whatcom, State of Washington since December 5, 1996 respectively; and 7 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the County and 8 the people thereof that said property be sold; and, 9 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Assessor, Engineering, Parks, Planning, and Public Works 10 Departments were contacted and expressed no interest in retaining this property for County use; and, 11 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends the sale of 12 the subject property and accepts the assessed values as fair, and; 13 WHEREAS, the assessed value is less than five years old and below $15,000 so dismissing 14 further market evaluation as defined in Whatcom County Ordinance 96 -036; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County to sell 16 parcel number: 370408 - 044089 -0000. with legal description of: 17 SUDDEN VALLEY DIV 27 LOT 90 18 and, 19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said price shall not be allowed under contract and shall be 20 paid in either cash, cashier's check, or money order to the Whatcom County Treasurer at the time 21 of sale; and, 22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council, that public hearing on the matter of the sale of said property, under said terms, be held on the 28 day of July 24 1998, at y p.m., at thef aunty rn rrthrnusP , Whatcom County, Washington; 25 and, 26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council shall give 27 notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by law under RCW 36.34.030. 28 APPROVED this 14 day of July , 1998: 29 30 31 32 rown- a is, Council Clerk 33 APVR VED AS TO F 34 '15 Civil Deputy Prose uting Attorney WHATCOM COUNTY COUNCIL WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON 0
