'UMMARYSTATEMENT.•
The Supervisors of newly formed Diking District No. 4 have
devised a system of assessment to provide revenue for the district.
The assessment will be based on the total acreage of the district.
Each property owner will pay a proportionate share, based on
the number of acres in their individual parcels, to generate one
thousand dollars of revenue. This resolution will schedule a
public hearing to consider authorizing this system of assessments
for Diking District No. 4.

9 SCHEDULING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER AUTHORIZING
10 A SYSTEM OF ASSESSMENTS FOR DUUNG DISTRICT NO. 4

12 WHEREAS, the Supervisors of Diking District No. 4 and Engineering Division staff
13 have designed a preliminary system of assessments based solely on acreage, and
14
15 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Engineer, in compliance with R.C.W. 85.38.160, will
16 notify property owners in the district of this system of assessments and their proportionate share
17 to generate one thousand dollars for the district's revenue, and
18
19 WHEREAS, R.C.W. 85.38.160(3) requires the County legislative authority to hold a
20. public hearing on the system of assessment for newly formed Diking Districts.

22 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Whatcom. County Council that a public
23 hearing will be held at 7:00 P.M., May 19, 1998, in the County Council Chambers, to consider
24 an Ordinance finalizing this system of assessments for Diking District No. 4.
