CUMMARYSTATEMENT.
An review was conducted by the County Engineer's office, and it is
found that conditions warrant the installation of stop signs at various
intersections on certain County roads recently constructed or
impacted through development activities.

SUBJECT: Ordinance Regarding Installation of Stop Signs at Various Intersections
on Certain County Roads
Due to recent development activities, the County Engineer's office performed a review of various
intersections, and found that conditions warrant the installation of stop signs at various locations on
certain County roads.
We therefore recommend adoption of an ordinance regarding the installation of stop signs at
various County road intersections.

AN ORDINANCE REGARDING INSTALLING STOP SIGNS
ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.200 and 47.36.110, it is found necessary
and expedient to modify traffic control signs on certain County Roads; and
WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's office; and
it is found that conditions warrant intersectional control modification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
intersectional traffic control be modified at the following locations:
1) Install a stop sign eastbound on Mahonia Drive at Governor Road, Section 8,
Township 37 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
2) Install a stop sign eastbound on Lewis Avenue at Coronado Avenue, Section 35,
Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
3) Install a stop sign westboand on Lewis Avenue at Coronado Avenue, Section
35, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
4) Install a stop sign westbound on Columbus Avenue at Coronado Avenue,
Section 35, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
5) Install a stop sign westbound on La Salle Avenue at Coronado Avenue, Section
35, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
6) Install a stop sign southbound on Topaz Court at Agate Heights Road, Section
24, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
7) Install a stop sign southbound on Opal Terrace at Agate Heights Road, Section
24, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
8) Install a stop sign southbound on Kramer Lane at East Bakerview Road, Section
8, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
9) Install a stop sign westbound on Aletha Lane at Kramer Lane, Section 8,
Township 38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
10) Install a stop sign northbound on Silverado Drive at East Axton Road, Section

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to install
the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff be notified by a copy of this
ordinance.
10.16.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code, Section
ADOPTED this 2$_ day of Nov" , 2000.
