MEMO TO: The Honorable Pete Kremen, County Executive and RECEIVED
Honorable Members of the Whatcom County Council
FROM: Bruce Mills, County Road Engineer Tx NOV 0 3 2000
PETE KREMEN
DATE: November 2, 2000 COUNTY EXECUTIVE
SUBJECT: Ordinance Establishing a Temporary Speed Limit Change for Park Road
The County Engineer's office performed an engineering and traffic investigation of Park Road, and
found that conditions warrant a temporary speed limit reduction for all truck traffic on the mad,
from 35 mph to 25 mph.
Following the completion of the Park Road reconstruction project, scheduled for 2001 -2002, the
speed limit would revert to its current limit of 35 mph for all vehicles.
We therefore recommend adoption of an ordinance regarding the temporary speed limit change for
Park Road.
