SUMMARY STATEMENT.
An review was conducted by the County Engineer's office, and it is
found that conditions warrant a 25 miles per hour speed limit on
certain County roads recently constructed through development
activities.

AN ORDINANCE REGARDING ESTABLISHMENT OF SPEED LIMITS
ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.515 to
establish speed limits on =train County roads; and
WHEREAS, a review was conducted by the County Engineer's office; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the speed limits be established as
follows:
1) 25 mph on all roads within the plat of Wildflower, Section 8, Township 37
North, Range 3 East, W.M.
2) 25 mph on Governor Road for the entire length, Section 8, Township 37 North,
Range 3 East, W.M.
3) 25 mph on all roads within the plat of Baker Creek Estates, Section 8, Township
38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
4) 25 mph on Agate Heights Road for the entire length, Section 24, Township 38
North, Range 3 East, W.M.
5) 25 mph on all roads within the plat of Richalou Estates, Section 24, Township
38 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
6) 25 mph on all roads within the plat of Silverado East and West, Section 30,
Township 39 North, Range 3 East, W.M.
7) 25 mph on all roads within the plat of Anchor Manor, Section 29, Township 40
North, Range 1 East, W.M.
8) 25 mph on all roads within the plat of Northwest Country Acres, Section 22,
- Township 39 North, Range 2 East, W.M.
9) 25 mph on all roads within the plat of Whispering Meadows, Section 22,
Township 39 North, Range 2 East, W.M.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to post the
appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol be
notified by a copy of this ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcum County Code, Section
10.04.030.

SUBJECT: Ordinance Regarding Establishment of Speed Limits
on Certain County Roads
Due to recent development activities, the County Engincer's office performed a review of various
County roads, and found that conditions warrant the establishment of 25 miles per hour speed limits
on certain County roads.
We therefore recommend adoption of an ordinance regarding the establishment of said speed limits
on various County roads.
