Whereas, Presently the Whatcom County Code # 11 makes the violation OjBoating and Swimming regulations a
non jailable criminal offence and, a
Whereas, The Sheriff's Office wishes to decriminalize certain sections and make them infractions and,
Whereas, It is in the public's best interest to make these violations infractions.

(AMENDING BOATING AND SWIMMING VIOLATIONS)
WHEREAS, presently the Whatcom County Code #11 makes the
violation of Boating and Swimming regulations a non - jailable
offense; and,
WHEREAS, the
Sheriff's
Office wishes to
decriminalize
certain sections and
make them
infractions; and,
WHEREAS, it is in
the
public's
interest to make
these
violations infractions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County
Council that Chapter 11.48 of the Whatcom County Code be amended
as follows:
11.48.020 Designated.
With the exceptiQu of 11.04 of this title: Any person who is
convicted of violating, or who is convicted of aiding or
abetting a violation of any of the provisions of this title
