Benjamin, Director g0UN1V FXFN T'\ %r RE: Budget Supplemental DATE: January 13, 2000 Enclosed is a Budget Modification Request. On January 7 the Year 2000 Medicaid Match Interlocal Agreement between the State of Washington Department of Social & Health Services and Whatcom County Health & Human Services (HHS) was forwarded to you. This agreement included unanticipated revenue for the Medicaid Client Outreach Project that was not included in the HHS Year 2000 Budget. The Medicaid Client Outreach Project was originally funded for fifteen months, from October, 1998 through December, 1999. Additional spending authority was given to the States for three months. HHS received notification of this extension in December. The total amount of additional revenue is $14,506. Of this amount $11,000 will be used to extend the subcontract with Opportunity Council through March, 2000. This will assure the continuity of the Medicaid Client Outreach Project activities during the three -month extension. The contracts to accept and expend this revenue will be reviewed by the County Council at their meeting on January 25, 2000.
