RE: Intersection Signalization of E. Bakerview Rd. at James Street Rd. -
Request for Additional County Funds to be Fully Reimbursed by the City
of Bellingham
The City of Bellingham desires to install a sewer line on James Street Road as part of
the County's East Bakerview Rd. /James Street Rd. Intersection Signalization Project
(CRP 998010). This Project was previously awarded to Soto and Sons Construction by
Council on June 13, 2000 and construction is currently underway.
The cost of this sewer line installation is approximately $61,589.32 and the City has
agreed to reimburse the County for the full cost of this work. With a current contract
amount of $491,173.60, incorporating the sewer installation in the amount of $61,589.32
would create a contract total amount of $552,762.92 with Soto and Sons Construction.
The sewer installation will serve County residents, installation of the sewer line at this
time is mutually beneficial to the County and the City, and the City has asked for the
County's assistance on this matter.
Therefore it is respectfully requested that the Council authorize an additional
$61,589.32 to the existing contract to be fully reimbursed by the City.
