The Whatcom County Treasurer's Office is presenting you with this
resolution to cancel the Welcome Cemetery's Flood Control Assessment. The
cemetery is abandoned and we have been unable to locate any members of the
Welcome Cemetery Association. The Treasurer recommends that the council
cancel the uncollectible Flood Control Assessment for the Welcome Cemetery.

RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -029
A RESOLUTION TO CANCEL THE UNCOLLECTIBLE
WELCOME CEMETERY FLOOD CONTROL ASSESSMENT
FOR PARCEL NO. 390527 400102 0000
WHEREAS, the Welcome Cemetery is an abandoned cemetery and in the ownership of the
Welcome Cemetery Association; and,
WHEREAS, the Treasurer has been unable to find any members of the Welcome
Cemetery Association; and,
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Treasurer has made every attempt to collect the
delinquent flood control assessment dating back from 1993, when the flood control assessment
first began, to the present; and,
WHEREAS, Whatcom County Resolution No. 99 -058 Section 14 states that the Treasurer
may submit a request to adjust the Roll for the County-wide Flood Control Assessment District.
The Treasurer recommends to the Council that the uncollectible assessment for the Welcome
Cemetery be cancelled, and that no future assessments be applied; and,
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council has reviewed the attached list of the Welcome
Cemetery Flood Control Assessment for Parcel No. 390527 400102 0000 (Exhibit "A ") of the
years and amounts to be cancelled.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Whatcom County Council approves the
cancellation of the Welcome Cemetery Flood Control Assessment on Parcel No. 390527
400102 0000, hereto attached as Exhibit "A ", and that no future fees be assessed to said
parcel.
