RESOLUTION NO. 07 00 -02
SETTING COUNCIL POLICY REGARDING REQUESTS FOR
INFORMATION FROM COUNCIL STAFF
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council Office staff is unable to identify every
person who has accessed or requested information from the Council Office; and
WHEREAS, It Is not efficient use of staff time to monitor or document access or
requests for information; and
WHEREAS, the Council staff works for the entire Council and it is inappropriate for
staff to report on the activities of individual oouncilmembers; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public Interest to respect the privacy of the citizens of
Whatcom County who access our public Information.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council that Council
staff will be unable to provide councilmembers with names, addresses, or phone numbers of
individuals who request Council Information, access public files, or request copies of records
or tapes unless required by RCW 42.17.260.
