NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Whatcom County Council: That CRP 999013 is formally established for the Hannegan Corridor Intersection Improvements. The Contract for this project is awarded to Stremler Gravel Inc. in the amount of their bid of $ 4979967.25. An appropriation from the officially adopted Road Fund Budget and based on the County Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the purposes shown: PURPOSE AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION Preliminary Engineering $ 20,000.00 Right-of-Way $ 40,000.00 Subtotal $ 60,000.00 Construction Contract $ 497,967.25 Construction Engineering Y-30,000.66 Total $5879967.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the construction is to be accomplished by Contract in accordance with RCW 36.77.020 et. seq. Based on a review of the ten bids received, it is recommended that the contract for the subject project be awarded to the low bidder, Stremler Gravel Inc. in the amount of $497,967.25 including taxes. This project is listed as Item No. 8 on the 2000 Annual Construction Budget which was adopted by Council on November 9, 1999. Sufficient funds exist to complete the project. Local funds are involved. Attached for your review is a copy of the low bid proposal, tabulation of all bids, Resolution for Contract Award, Whatcom County Contract Information Sheet, and a Whatcom County Council Agenda Bill. Please signify on the Approval For Contract Award page your approval to award the contract to Stremler Gravel, Inc.
