Background & Purpose As necessary, the County arranges to sell surplus property that is no longer of use to the County. Surplus goods that could possibly be used in another County application are kept in storage and made available to requesting departments. Those items that are of no possible use, are sold at public auction pursuant to the County Code. The monies received from the auction are returned to the General Fund or the ER &R Fund. This is the standard process for disposing of surplus goods.
