Number r:ucenDA Brutes SPONSORED BY: Treasurer PROPOSED BY: Treasurer INTRODUCTION DATE: 11 i 1 Z ins RESOLUTION NO. 2002 -061 TO SELL COUNTY TAX TITLE PROPERTY REQUEST NO. 030302 1 WHEREAS, RCW 36.35.120 allows the County to sell real estate acquired by tax 2 foreclosure where it is found to be in the best interest of Whatcom County to sell the same; and, 3 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends the 4 sale of the subject property by public auction to effectively meet the legal requirement for 5 disposal; and, 6 WHEREAS, the Water Resource division of Whatcom County Public Works reviewed 7 the parcel and does not see an appropriate need to restrict the movement of this process; and, 8 WHEREAS, RCW 36.35.120 requires the Council to establish the minimum price for 9 said unit of property and to determine whether or not a contract will be allowed, or if it will be a 10 cash price; and, 1 t WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Code as well as the state law allows the County to 12 reserve from the sale coal, oil, gas, gravel, mineral, ores, fossils, timber or other resources if the 13 Council finds that it is in the best interest to reserve these; 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County to 15 sell: 16 Parcel #370406-223185-0000 17 SUDDEN VALLEY DIV 6 LOT 143 is Tax -Title property acquired 12/19/97 T/C 1589 19 The principal taxes, interest, penalty, title search and foreclosure costs total $577.03.
