SL.W.VARYSTATEMENT: Under the Growth Management Act, the Distribution Request County Council is to consider amendments to the Comprehensive Indicate those who should receive a copy after Council action. f Plan no more frequently than once per year (with certain exceptions). List specific names to the right. Additionally, Glhatcom County Code 20.10.060 indicates that Comprehensive Plan amendments are to be "initiated" for further ADS Facilities Management ADS Finance review by a majority vote of the County Council (amendments submitted by cities are automatically initiated). Planning and Development Services is forwarding the proposed amendments so ADS Human Resources ADS Info Services Assessor Auditor that the Council can determine which docketed items to initiate for further review. Amended and approved 7 -0, Res. #2002 -013 Sheriff Superior Court Treasurer Other Ri �I Related File Numbers: Ordinance or Resolution A'umber (this item): �G.] t{ 2QQ2 03 Comprehensive Plan Docket, 2,2711142 Sponsored by: Consent Proposed by Plana i"' Develo ment Services iL Introduction date: 1 9 02 RESOLUTION NO. 2002 -013 INITIATING COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND ZONING AMENDMENTS WHEREAS, the Growth Management Act (RCW 36.70A.130) requires that the County Council consider amendments to the Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan no more frequently than once per year (with certain exceptions); and WHEREAS, the provisions of WCC 20.10.060 indicate that Comprehensive Plan amendments are to be "initiated" for review by approval of a resolution by the County Council; and WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Planning and Development Services Department has forwarded a docket of 15 proposed Comprehensive Plan amendments, along with associated zoning amendments, to the County Council for consideration; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Whatcom County Council hereby initiates for formal review the 11 amendments shown on attached Exhibit A.
