The Property Management Committee recommends the sale of a
portion of County-owned property to WSDOT as right -of -way for
their SR 539 (Guide Meridian) widening project, and requests that a
resolution be passed setting a public hearing for this sale.

AUTHORIZING THE SALE A PORTION OF
COUNTY OWNED PROPERTY
REQUEST NO. 010102
WHEREAS, the following described property is now, and has been the property of the County
of Whatcom, State of Washington; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Department of Transportation has requested that Whatoom
County sell to them a portion of said property, as herein described, as right -of -way for their SR 539 (Guide
Meridian) road widening project; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on February 26,2002 regarding said sale of property;
and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the County and
the people thereof that a portion of said property be sold; and
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommends the sale of
a portion of said property in the amount of $1,000.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Whatcom County authorizes the sale of the
following described portion of property in the amount of $1,000 to the Washington State Department of
Transportation:
A portion of Parcel 390225.434267.0000, further described as:
All that portion of the hereinafter described PARCEL "A" lying easterly of a line beginning at a point
opposite Highway Engineer's Station (hereinafter referred to as HES) 148 +71 on the SR 539 line survey of
SR 539, Horton Road Vic. To Ten Mile Road Vic. and 60 feet westerly therefrom; thence northwesterly to
a point opposite HES 149 +42 on said line survey and 80 feet westerly therefrom; thence northerly parallel
with said line survey to a point opposite HES 149 +48 + / -, said point being on the northerly boundary of
said PARCEL "A ", and the end of this line description.

The southerlymost 15 feet of the northeast quarter of Section 25, Township 39 North, Range 2
East, W.M.;
EXCEPTING therefrom State Highway No. 539 (Guide Meridian Road).
