The State Auditor 's Office recently recommended that access to changefunds in the Parks & Recreation Department be limited to ensure accountability of funds. List specglc names to the right. a copy after Council ADS FacRides Management ADS Finanre ADS Xuman Resources ADSlnfo Servlcrs Assessor Auditor Cooperaaveeweuion District court Esecudve Heath Hearing E[arener Jail Juvenile Parks Barbara Alms P /annM Prosecutor Public Works Sheriff Superior Court Treasurer Other Ordinance or Resolution Number (this item): (Ctot , a00 3 — 0,37 SPONSORED BY: Consent PROPOSED BY: Parks & Recreation INTRODUCTION DATE: May 9, 2003 ORDINANCE NO. 2003 -037 REVISION TO THE ORDINANCE TO INCREASE THE WHATCOM COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT PETTY CASH REVOLVING FUND WHEREAS, on March 26, 1991 Whatcom County Ordinance No. 91 -021 increased the Parks and Recreation Department's Petty Cash Revolving Fund to ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS ($1,780); and WHEREAS, the State Auditor's Office recently recommended that access to change funds in the Parks and Recreation Department be limited to ensure accountability of funds; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department uses seasonal employees during the peak season to collect revenue at park facilities; and WHEREAS, the current fund level is not sufficient to meet the State Auditor's recommendation to limit access to change funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that the Whatcom County Parks and Recreation Department's Petty Cash Revolving Fund shall be increased in the amount of SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FORTY -FIVE DOLLARS ($6,145.00) to a total of SEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY -FIVE DOLLARS ($7,925.00) and assigned as follows: Samish Park $1,700.00 Silver Lake Park $1,200.00 Hovander Homestead Park $275.00 Plantation Rifle Range $2,750.00 Lighthouse Marine Park $600.00 Roeder Home $400.00 Parks Office $350.00 Outdoor Program $400.00 Teen Adventure Program $250.00 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Whatcom County Treasurer is hereby authorized to issue a treasurer's check in the amount of $6,145.00 to bring the available balance up to $7,925.00.
