SUMMARYSTATEMENT.-
Whatcom County Engineering was contacted by the post office concerning
addressing in the vicinity ofHarton Way and Lummi View drive. Council was
contacted by people residing on this area l % Hatton Way. In f ormation was
gathered and presented at the November 26, 2002 Council Public Works and
Capital Projects committee meeting. Council Direction to change the road name
of Harlon Way to Lummi View Drive beginning at Mackenzie road was given.
The result is the enclosed resolution..

4 A RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF
5 NAMING HAXTON WAY AND LUMMI VIEW DRIVE
6 WHEREAS, through a Resolution dated July 14, 1964, the Board of County
7 Commissioners designated Hasten Way as ending at a point between Lots 15 and 16, Block 2, of
8 Fisherman's Cove Plat, this point being at the ferry dock at Gooseberry Point, and
9 WHEREAS, the correction of addresses from Lummi View Drive to Haxton Way based
10 on that Resolution has caused public concern, and
11 WHEREAS, the County Council has directed the Public Works Department to change the
12 ending point of Haxton Way to Mackenzie Road,
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Haxton Way shall end, and Lummi View
14 Drive begin, at a point between Lots 10 and 11, Block 3, of Gooseberry Point Plat; this point
15 being at the intersection of Haxton Way and Mackenzie Road.
