( ) Yes ( x) NO Requested Date: SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Whatcom County Comprehensive Plan, origlnalh adopted in 1997, contains Mineral Resource Action Item # 11 to: Budget, initiate and complete a Comprehensive Construction Aggregate Study (CCAS) to document the short and long range availability and location of quality mineral resources, to be completed within five years of the adoption of this comprehensive plan, Update the CCAS as needed based on the outcome of the study. the County contracted with Geo-Engineers to perform this study on October 15, 2002. Geo-Engineers completed the study, entitled "Engineering Geology Evaluation Aggregate Resource Inventory Study Whatcom County, Washington, "on September 30, 2003. The Comprehensive Plan states that the CCAS study shall be publicly I eviewed and approved by the County Council. Staff is bringing the stud} forward for Council review and approval. Update the CCAS as needed based on the outcome of the study. WHEREAS, the County contracted with Geo- Engineers to perform this study on October 15, 2002.
