ORDINANCE NO. 2004 -060
AN ORDINANCE REGARDING ESTABLISHMENT OF SPEED LIMITS
ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council is authorized under RCW 46.61.415 to
establish speed limits on certain County roads; and
WHEREAS, the Lummi Nation School is now operating a new tribal school at 2334
Lummi View Drive; and
WHEREAS, the County Road Engineer has determined that it is necessary to formally
establish a speed limit within the vicinity of this school; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that a school zone and speed limit be set and
posted as "20 miles per hour, when children are present' at the following location:
On Lummi View Drive, from 300 feet south to 300 feet north of the access for the
new Lummi Nation School at 2334 Lummi View Drive in Section 2, Township 37
North, Range 01 East, W.M.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to post the
appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol be
notified by a copy of this ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code, Section
10.04.095,
