SUBJECT: Ordinance Regarding Installation of Stop Signs at Various Intersections on
Certain County Roads
Requested Action:
Recommend adoption of ordinance regarding the installation of stop signs at various County road
intersections.

Due to recent development activities, the County Engineer's office performed a review of various
County roads, and found that conditions warrant the installation of stop signs at various locations
on certain County roads

ON CERTAIN COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS, in compliance with RCW 46.61.200 and 47.36.110, it is found necessary
and expedient to modify traffic control signs on certain County Roads; and
WHEREAS, an engineering study was conducted by the County Engineer's office; and
it is found that conditions warrant intersectional control modification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Whatcom County Council that
intersectional traffic control be modified at the following locations:
1. Install a stop
sign northbound on Harbor Drive at the east intersection with
California Trail, in Section 19, Township 40 North, Range 1 East, W.M.
2. Install a stop
sign westbound on Spring Creek Lane at Kellogg Road, in Section 7,
Township 38
North, Range 1 East, W.M.
3. Install a stop
sign eastbound on Kellogg Road at James Street Road, in Section 7,
Township 38
North, Range 1 East, W.M.
4. Install a stop
sign southbound on Woodfem Way at Smith Road, Section 29,
Township 39
North, Range 4 East, W.M.
5. Install a stop
sign westbound on Lighthouse Drive of Jackson Road, Section 31,
Township 40
North, Range 1 East, W.M.
6. Install a stop
sign southbound on Nautical Court at Lighthouse Drive, Section 31,
Township 40
North, Range 1 East, W.M.
7. Install a stop
sign westbound on Starfish Lane at Lighthouse Drive, Section 31,
Township 40
North, Range 1 East, W.M.
8. Install a stop
sign eastbound on Churchill Drive at Delano Way, Section 34,
Township 41
North, Range 3 West, W.M.
9. Install a stop
sign westbound on Churchill Drive at Delano Way, Section 34,

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Engineer is hereby directed to install
the appropriate signs and that the Whatcom County Sheriff be notified by a copy of this
ordinance.
Provisions of this ordinance are hereby added to Whatcom County Code, Section
10.16.
ADOPTED this 24 day of Feb. , 2004.
