ORDINANCE NO. 2014 -061
AN ORDINANCE LIMITING THE 2015
GENERAL FUND PROPERTY TAX LEVY
WHEREAS, the County Council has approved a budget for the 2015 -2016 biennium, including
all sources of revenues and anticipated expenditures on November 25, 2014; and
- WHEREAS, the County Council held a public hearing regarding the county biennial budget which
included property tax rates, and other revenues;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED by the Whatcom County
Council that amounts collected through the County general levy shall be limited to the amount of 2014
taxes, increased for the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the
value of state assessed property. A property tax increase in addition to the amount resulting from the
addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state - assessed
property is hereby authorized for the 2015 levy in the amount of $0, which is a percentage increase of 0%
from the previous year.
