SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Property Management Committee recommends that the resolution be passed for the sale of surplus
property by auction at a minimum bid of the appraised value plus costs.

HEARING AND NOTICE OF HEARING ON
SALE OF COUNTY SURPLUS PROPERTY
REQUEST NO. 02 -05
1 WHEREAS, the following described properties are now, and have been the property
2 of the County of Whatcom, State of Washington as noted for each parcel below and,
3 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Property Management Committee recommended
4 the properties be sold by public auction per R.C.W. 36.35.150(2) for no less than the
5 appraised value and costs; and,
6 WHEREAS, the appraised values are: Parcel No. 400606 305209 0000 -
7 $35,000.00; Parcel No. 390527 428080 0000 - $6,500.00; Parcel No. 390531 419037
8 0000 & 390531 403027 0000 combined - $36,150; plus costs including but not limited to
9 excise tax, property tax, deed fee, title insurance and closing costs, recording costs, plat
10 certificate, and appraisal; and,
11 WHEREAS, the Whatcom County Council does deem it in the best interest of the
12 County and the people thereof that said properties be sold for no less than the appraised
13 value; and,
14 WHEREAS, Resolution 95 -005 designated the Whatcom County Treasurer as
15 negotiator in such sales; and,
16 WHEREAS, RCW 36.35.120 requires the Council to establish the minimum price for
17 said units of property and to determine whether or not a contract will be allowed, or if it will
18 be a cash price;
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is in the best interest of the County
20 to sell for prices as directed by the Property Management Committee and approved by the
21 County Council, the following properties:

105 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Whatcom County Council shall
